Managing Modules
Modules are independent pieces of page content. There are three types of modules: text modules, document modules and content modules. You can have as many modules as you want on a page, in any order, although content modules should only have one instance of a particular content module on each page.
For example, a page may have text at the top, a list of documents below that and text below the documents. In the DMM you would have a text module, below that a document module and another text module below the document module.

- Text Module - All page specific text, imagery and links. The Sidebar Text Module is a special kind of Text Module that is used for all text in a sidebar. Every Text Module is unique and not dependent on other text modules.
- Document Module - All documents on a page are contained in one or more document modules. When documents are updated in the Document Library all instances of that document located in Document Modules throughout all your sites will be updated.
- Content Module - These modules are content specific. They include: news and events modules, partner modules, team modules and more.
